Our vision is to help build a better community by forming trusting relationships, and creating an iconic experience that makes our customers come back for more. ​

With the help of Dean Cuss who has been our right-hand man for many years, and our store manager, we have stood the test of time. From our original one-third of its current size, the opening and closing of our sister store in Racecourse Rd Hamilton, the SEQEB power dispute in 1985, the relocation of the horse stables, the outbreak of the Hendra virus in 1994, not to mention the hail storms and floods…. We have survived.

Everything we do and offer comes from years of experience and a personal touch. Our staff has always put the customer’s needs first, ensuring they get the right product and friendly advice, whether it is matching the right paint, fixing a cavity in a wall or getting the gas bottle filled. Today we are proud to provide the products and services that help enrich the lives of families and businesses.​

Commited to bettering ourself and the world

The Pinkey family started their business in the 1970’s. Hendra Hardware was bought in 2010 by Matthew Pinkey and has been operating ever since in the community. Our vision is to help build a better community by forming trusting relationships, and creating an iconic experience that makes our customers come back for more.  ​

We understand the need for sustainability along with the impacts of climate change and Global warming. Therefore, we constantly strive to maintain a balance between our decisions and actions that impact the community and the ecological environment.  ​

2013 the store was renovated to move towards greener building by installation of new insulation in walls & floors to reduce the energy consumption of heating/cooling. A year after that, in 2014, we installed rain water harvesting to reduce the water wastage and effectively use the resource in our nursery, toilets and cleaning.  ​

In 2015, we installed Solar Panels to help combat greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and reduce our dependence on traditional source of energy like fossil fuels. ​

Our next initiative at Hendra Hardware in 2017 was the introduction of Eco friendly and Natural products in our store as well as increasing the awareness levels among our customers. In the same year, we started the usage of waste paper in our packaging for all the online deliveries. ​

We aspire to continuously improve and enhance our services and systems and mitigate all risks that can deter the success of our goals and objectives.
